Biography
Lorenzo Music (1937–2001) was an American actor, voice actor, writer and producer. He began his career performing in a comedy duo with his wife Henrietta before becoming a writer and performer on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (1967–1969), for which he won an Emmy Award.
In the early 1970s he wrote episodes and served as story consultant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970). With writing partner David Davis he co-created The Bob Newhart Show (1972–1978) and contributed to its spin-off Rhoda (1974–1978), in which he also voiced the unseen doorman Carlton. He later became widely known as the voice of Garfield in twelve animated specials, the series Garfield and Friends (1988–1994) and related media.
