Biography
Loretta Lynn (née Webb) was an American country music singer and songwriter. Born in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, she achieved success with autobiographical songs including the 1970 hit 'Coal Miner's Daughter'.
The 1980 biographical film Coal Miner's Daughter, directed by Michael Apted, was based on her 1976 autobiography of the same name. Lynn contributed music to the production, which starred Sissy Spacek as Lynn and won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
