Biography
Lori Singer is an American actress and musician. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, she trained as a cellist at the Juilliard School, becoming its youngest graduate, and made her professional debut with the Oregon Symphony.
She began her screen career in the television series Fame (1982–1983) as Julie Miller, a role written to showcase her musical abilities. Singer gained prominence for her leading performance as Ariel Moore in the film Footloose (1984). Subsequent credits include The Falcon and the Snowman (1985), Warlock (1989) and Short Cuts (1993).
She is the daughter of conductor Jacques Singer and the sister of actor Marc Singer.
