Biography
Lotte Verbeek is a Dutch actress, dancer and model. She was born on 24 June 1982 in Venlo, Netherlands, and trained at the Dance Academy in Arnhem and the Amsterdam Academy of Jazz/Musical Theatre and Dance, graduating in 2006, before studying acting at the Theaterschool in Amsterdam.
She began her screen career in Dutch productions including Nothing Personal (2009), for which she received the Silver Leopard for Best Actress at the Locarno International Film Festival. Verbeek is known for her roles as Giulia Farnese in The Borgias (2011–2013), Geillis Duncan in Outlander (2014–), Lidewij Vliegenthart in The Fault in Our Stars (2014), and Emmy Göring in Nuremberg (2025). She has also appeared in The Last Witch Hunter (2015), Agent Carter (2015–2016) and The Blacklist (2016–2021).
