Biography
Louis Née (1895–1977) was a French cinematographer whose career spanned from the late 1920s to the 1950s. He began as a camera assistant and progressed to director of photography on numerous French productions.
Née served as director of photography or camera operator on Vampyr (1932), directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer, working alongside Rudolph Maté. He later shot Hôtel du Nord (1938) and other features including Fric-Frac (1939) and Miquette (1950). In later years he frequently worked as a camera operator on films such as Diabolique (1955) and The Wages of Fear (1953).
