Biography
Louise Platt (3 August 1915 – 6 September 2003) was an American actress who worked in theatre, film and television. She is best known for her role as Lucy Mallory in the 1939 western Stagecoach.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, she began her career in stock theatre and made her Broadway debut in 1936. After appearing in a handful of films including Tell No Tales (1939) and Captain Caution (1940), she returned to the New York stage in the early 1940s.
Platt later took television roles, including appearances in Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955) and the soap opera The Guiding Light. She was married to theatre director Jed Harris and to director Stanley Gould.
