Biography
Lowell Gilmore (1906–1960) was an American stage, film and television actor. Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he began his career on Broadway in the late 1920s, initially working as a stage manager before appearing in productions including The Wind and the Rain (1934), The Taming of the Shrew (1935) and Leave Her to Heaven (1940).
Gilmore made his film debut in Days of Glory (1944). He played Basil Hallward in The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945) and Eric Masters in King Solomon's Mines (1950). Other film roles include appearances in The Black Arrow (1948), The Secret Garden (1949) and The Sea Chase (1955). During the 1950s he also appeared in television series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
