Biography
Lucien Hubbard (22 December 1888 – 31 December 1971) was an American film producer and screenwriter. He produced Wings (1927), the first film to receive the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Before entering the film industry he worked as night editor of The New York Times. He moved to Hollywood in 1923 after selling three screenplays and went on to produce or write a total of ninety-two films. He is also credited with the screenplay for Three on a Match (1932). His brother was the artist and writer Harlan Hubbard.
