Biography
Luis David Sansans is a cinematographer. Born in Madrid, he is based in Mexico City and began his career as an assistant cameraman on films including Y tu mamá también (2001) and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). He later worked as a camera operator and Steadicam operator on titles such as Man on Fire (2004), Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) and Spectre (2015).
As director of photography, Sansans has credits including Days of Grace (2011), Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014), Captive (2015), The Belko Experiment (2016) and The Forever Purge (2021). He served as cinematographer on seasons of the Netflix series Narcos (2015–) and Narcos: Mexico (2018–). He is a member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC) and has received two awards.
