Biography
Lukas Dhont is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Ghent on 11 June 1991.
His debut feature Girl (2018) premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d'Or and the Queer Palm. His second feature Close (2022), which he wrote with Angelo Tijssens, premiered in competition at Cannes and shared the Grand Prix. It was Belgium's entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
Dhont was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2019.
