Biography
Lukasz Pawel Buda, also known as Luke Buda, is a New Zealand composer and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Wrocław, Poland, on 26 February 1979, he moved to New Zealand in 1987. He is a member of the band The Phoenix Foundation and collaborates with Samuel Scott and Conrad Wedde in the group Moniker.
Buda has composed scores for several New Zealand films and television series. His film credits include Boy (2010) and Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), both directed by Taika Waititi, as well as Eagle vs Shark (2007). Television work includes Cleverman (2016–2017) and Wellington Paranormal (2018–2022). He is based in Wellington, where he maintains a studio.
