Biography
Lumi Cavazos is a Mexican actress. Born in Monterrey, she began acting at the age of 15 and trained at the Centro Universitario de Teatro at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
She made her film debut in El Secreto de Romelia (1988). Cavazos gained international recognition for her leading role as Tita in Like Water for Chocolate (1992), for which she received Best Actress awards at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Festival de Gramado. She has appeared in numerous Mexican films and television series, as well as American productions including Bottle Rocket (1996), in which she played Inez, and Sugar Town (1999).
