Biography
Lupita Amondi Nyong'o is a Kenyan-Mexican actress. She was born on 1 March 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico. She trained at the Yale School of Drama.
Nyong'o made her feature film debut as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave (2013). She has since appeared as Nakia in Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), as Maz Kanata in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015–2019), and as Adelaide Wilson in Us (2019). She provided the voice of Raksha in The Jungle Book (2016).
In 2024 she voiced Roz / Rummage in The Wild Robot and played Samira in A Quiet Place: Day One. She made her Broadway debut in Eclipsed (2015).
