Biography

Lutz Reitemeier is a German cinematographer born in 1963 in Stuttgart. After film school he completed a copy lab internship and worked for several years as a camera assistant on feature and documentary films, collaborating with directors including Werner Herzog and Roland Emmerich.

Since 1994 he has worked as a director of photography on features and documentaries in Germany and internationally. His credits include Tuya's Marriage (2006), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, White Deer Plain (2011), for which he received a Silver Bear, and Wadjda (2012). He is a member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and the Berufsverband Kinematografie (BVK), and has lectured at film schools.
