Biography
Lynn Whitfield is an American actress. She was born on 15 February 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and began her career in television and theatre before taking supporting roles in film.
Whitfield received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie and a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance as Josephine Baker in the 1991 HBO film The Josephine Baker Story. She appeared in Silverado (1985), Jaws: The Revenge (1987) as Louisa, Stepmom (1998) and Eve's Bayou (1997). From 2016 to 2020 she starred as Lady Mae Greenleaf in the series Greenleaf. She has won seven NAACP Image Awards.
