Biography

Mac Ahlberg (1931–2012) was a Swedish cinematographer and director. He began his career as a camera assistant in the 1950s and directed his first feature, the Danish film I, a Woman (1965). He directed several erotic films during the 1960s and 1970s, sometimes credited as Bert Torn or Edward Mannering.

Ahlberg moved to the United States in the late 1970s and worked mainly as a cinematographer on American productions. His credits include Re-Animator (1985), From Beyond (1986), Dolls (1987), The Wonder Years (1988), DeepStar Six (1989), House (1985), Striking Distance (1993), Oscar (1991), Beverly Hills Cop III (1994) and Good Burger (1997). He frequently worked with producer Charles Band and directors Stuart Gordon and John Landis.
