Biography
Madelon Champion was an American writer. She originated the story idea for the episode 'I Shot an Arrow into the Air', which aired in 1960 as part of the first season of the anthology series The Twilight Zone (1959). Rod Serling adapted the idea into the teleplay and she received screen credit as the story originator.
According to accounts, Champion suggested the outline to Serling at a dinner party; he purchased the idea immediately. The episode was directed by Stuart Rosenberg. Her story was later adapted for The Twilight Zone Radio Dramas in 2005. This remains her only credited work for the original series.
