Biography
Mahesh Manjrekar is an Indian actor, film director, screenwriter and producer who works primarily in Hindi, Marathi and Telugu cinema.
He made his acting debut in the Marathi film Jeeva Sakha (1992). He gained acclaim for his performance in Kaante (2002) and later appeared in negative roles including in the Telugu film Okkadunnadu (2007) and as the gangster Javed in Slumdog Millionaire (2008). Among his other acting credits are Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and The White Tiger (2021).
Manjrekar is also known for directing films such as Vaastav: The Reality (1999), Astitva (2000) and Viruddh... Family Comes First (2005). He has won a National Film Award and other honours. His daughter Saiee Manjrekar is also an actress.
