Biography
Makio Inoue (1938–2019) was a Japanese actor and voice actor. He began voice work in the 1960s with small roles in series such as Astro Boy and later voiced deep-voiced, serious male characters in 1970s anime.
He is best known for his long-running portrayal of Goemon Ishikawa XIII in the Lupin the Third franchise from 1977 to 2011, including the film The Castle of Cagliostro (1979), and for the title role in Space Pirate Captain Harlock from 1978 through the 1990s. He was succeeded as Goemon by Daisuke Namikawa. Other credits include William Albert Ardlay in Candy Candy (1976) and Enshirou Mariya in Samurai Champloo (2004).
