Biography
Makoto Satō was a Japanese film actor. He was born on 18 March 1934 in Kanzaki District, Saga, Japan, and died on 6 December 2012.
Satō appeared in more than one hundred films between 1953 and 2008. His credits include an uncredited role in The Hidden Fortress (1958), a part in Chûshingura (1962), and the voice of the Tatari God in Princess Mononoke (1997). He also appeared in Message from Space (1978), Sailor Suit and Machine Gun (1981), Typhoon Club (1985), The Eel (1997) and Blind Woman's Curse (1970). In 1958 he won the Newcomer of the Year award at the Elan d'or Awards.
