Biography
Malia Scotch Marmo is an American screenwriter. She wrote the screenplay for Lasse Hallström's Once Around (1991) and shared screenplay credit with James V. Hart on Steven Spielberg's Hook (1991). She also provided the screen story for Madeline (1998).
Scotch Marmo contributed an early draft to Jurassic Park (uncredited) and additional literary material to The School for Good and Evil (2022). She trained at Columbia University, where she earned an MFA, and has taught screenwriting while mentoring filmmakers through the Sundance Institute and other programmes. In 2012 she received the Andrew Sarris award for service and achievement from the Columbia Film Program.
