Biography
Mamo Clark, also credited as Marguerite Mamo Clark or simply Mamo, was a Hawaiian-born American actress. Born in Honolulu in 1914, she made her film debut in a featured role as Maimiti opposite Clark Gable in Mutiny on the Bounty (1935).
She appeared in several further films with Pacific Island or exotic settings, including The Hurricane (1937) as Hitia, Hawaii Calls (1938), and One Million B.C. (1940) as the Queen of the Rock Tribe. Clark was educated at the University of Southern California and later earned a degree from UCLA in 1965. She retired from acting after a minor role in Seven Sinners (1940).
Clark married U.S. Army Captain James M. Rawley and had a son. She was also an author on her Hawaiian ancestry and died in Panorama City, California, in 1986.
