Biography

Manny Fried (1913–2011) was an American actor, playwright and union organiser. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he appeared on Broadway under the stage name Edward Mann before moving to Buffalo, where he performed extensively on local stages and wrote more than two dozen plays, including Drop Hammer and The Dodo Bird.

Fried taught literature at Buffalo State College from 1973. His sole screen credit was as the Donut Clerk in Vincent Gallo's Buffalo '66 (1998). He died in Buffalo, New York.
