Biography
Marc Platt (born 13 May 1953) is a British novelist and playwright. Born in Wimbledon, he studied catering at a technical college before working for Trust House Forte and later in administration at the BBC.
A Doctor Who fan since the programme's launch in 1963, Platt wrote the 1989 serial Ghost Light, the final story produced for the original television series. He has written several tie-in novels for the franchise, including Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible (1992) and Lungbarrow (1997), as well as novelisations of Ghost Light and Battlefield.
Platt has contributed numerous audio dramas to Big Finish Productions, including Spare Parts (2002), which inspired the 2006 Doctor Who television episodes Rise of the Cybermen and The Age of Steel.
