Biography
Marc Wilmore was an American television writer, producer, actor and comedian. He wrote for In Living Color in the early 1990s and joined its cast for the final season (1993–94). He later wrote for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and served as a writer and voice actor on the animated series The PJs (1999–2001).
Wilmore joined the writing staff of The Simpsons in 2002 and remained until 2015, also serving as a producer; he had earlier made a guest voice appearance in the 2000 episode "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge". He subsequently worked as a writer and executive producer on F Is for Family. A graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, he was the younger brother of comedian and writer Larry Wilmore. He received ten Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won one for Outstanding Animated Program.
Wilmore died on 30 January 2021 in Pomona, California, aged 57.
