Biography

Mareike Carrière was a German actress. Born in Hanover in 1954, she grew up in Lübeck and trained at the Lübecker Schauspielschule before studying French and English at the Sorbonne in Paris.

She appeared in numerous television series, including as Ellen Wegener in Großstadtrevier (1986–1994) and as Dr Kathrin Brockmann in Praxis Bülowbogen (1987–1996). Her film credits include A Dangerous Method (2011), in which she played the Food Nurse. She was also known for roles in Tatort and other German television productions.

Carrière was the sister of actor Mathieu Carrière. She was married to film producer Joachim von Vietinghoff from 1981 to 1994 and to Gerd Klement from 1997 until her death from cancer in Hamburg in 2014.
