Biography
Margaret Hayes (born Florette Regina Ottenheimer) was an American film, stage and television actress. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she began her career as a model under the name Dana Dale before making her Broadway debut in 1940. She signed with Paramount Pictures the following year and appeared in supporting roles in several films.
She is credited as Secretary in Sullivan's Travels (1941). Other film roles include Eloise Matthews in The Glass Key (1942) and Lois Judby Hammond in Blackboard Jungle (1955). Hayes also worked in television, with guest appearances in series such as Perry Mason, Bonanza and Rawhide. She was married three times, including to actor Leif Erickson and producer Herbert B. Swope Jr.
