Biography
Margaret Phillips (6 July 1923 – 9 September 1984) was a Welsh-born actress. She moved to the United States with her family in 1939 and began performing in summer theatre before training with Cecil Clovelly. She had a stage career on Broadway from the 1940s until 1982.
In 1947 she received the Clarence Derwent Award for most promising female performer and the Donaldson Award for her work in Another Part of the Forest. Notable Broadway roles included Alma Winemiller in Summer and Smoke (1948) and a replacement in The Cocktail Party (1950). On screen she appeared in A Life of Her Own (1950) and as Sister Pauline in The Nun's Story (1959). She also had an extensive television career in the 1950s and 1960s.
