Biography
Margarita Shubina is a Soviet and Russian actress and director. Born on 4 April 1966 in the Ukrainian SSR, she trained at GITIS and has been a member of the Mossovet Theatre company since 1989. She made her screen debut in 1984 and has appeared in around forty films and television series.
Shubina is known for her role as the prosecutor in Andrey Zvyagintsev's Leviathan (2014). Other credits include the orphanage director in Six Degrees of Celebration (2010) and recurring parts in series such as Ambulance (2003–2005) and Svaty. She was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Russia in 2009 and made her directorial debut with the film Men Lived and Did Not Know.
