Biography
Marguerite d'Alvarez was an English contralto and actress. Born Margarita Amelia Alvarez de Rocafuerte in the 1880s in Bootle, England, to a Peruvian father and French mother, she studied at the Brussels Conservatoire and made her operatic debut in Rouen in 1907.
She appeared in four films in supporting roles: Till We Meet Again (1944) as Mme. Sarroux, An Angel Comes to Brooklyn (1945) as Madame Della, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951) as La Senora Montalvo, and Affair in Monte Carlo (1952) as Mme. Benoit. She died on 18 October 1953 in Alassio, Italy.
