Biography
Maria Duffek is a Polish production designer, set decorator and costume designer. Born on 7 April 1961 in Wrocław, she graduated in art history from Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She has worked extensively in Polish film and television, often credited as Maria Duffek-Bartoszewska on later projects.
Duffek served as production designer on Loving Vincent (2017), handling the live-action sequences filmed with actors in Wrocław. She also worked as production designer on Zwerbowana miłość (2010) and over 100 episodes of the television series Fala zbrodni (2003–2008). Her costume design credits include Hiena (2006), Republika dzieci (2021) and Wariaci (2023).
In 2018 she received the Polish Film Award (Orzeł) for production design on Loving Vincent. She is a member of the Polish Filmmakers Association.
