Biography
Maria Mauban (also credited as Marcelle Michelle) was a French actress. Born on 10 May 1924 in Marseille, she died on 26 August 2014. She appeared in around fifty films and television productions between 1946 and 1989. She played Marie in Roberto Rossellini's Journey to Italy (1954) and Josépha Cruchot in The Gendarme and the Extra-Terrestrials (1979).
Mauban's other film roles include Cairo Road (1950) and Cage of Gold (1950). She was married first to industrialist Jean Versini and then to actor Claude Dauphin, with whom she had a son, actor Jean-Claude Dauphin. She also worked extensively in theatre and on television series such as Au théâtre ce soir.
