Biography
Mariano Rigillo is an Italian actor. Born in Naples, he trained at the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts in the 1960s and began his career on stage, appearing in works by Shakespeare, Goldoni, Brecht and Pirandello. He collaborated frequently with director Giuseppe Patroni Griffi and made his film debut in Metti, una sera a cena (1969).
Rigillo has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. His screen credits include Soldier of Fortune (1976), Il Postino: The Postman (1994) as Di Cosimo, To Rome with Love (2012) and The Best Years (2020). He has also worked as a voice actor, dubbing performers such as Harvey Keitel, Ben Gazzara and Geoffrey Rush. His son Ruben Rigillo is also an actor.
