Biography
Marilù Parolini (born Maria Ludovica Parolini) was an Italian screenwriter and photographer. She moved to Paris in 1957 and worked as a secretary at Cahiers du cinéma from 1960 to 1962, where she met members of the French New Wave. She also appeared as herself in Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin's cinéma vérité documentary Chronicle of a Summer (1961).
Parolini worked as a still photographer on several New Wave films. She later collaborated as a screenwriter with Bernardo Bertolucci on The Spider's Stratagem (1970) and with Jacques Rivette, to whom she was married for a time, on L'Amour fou (1969), Duelle (1976) and Noroît (1976). She also worked with directors including Pier Paolo Pasolini and Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet. Parolini died in 2012.
