Biography
Marilyn Suzanne Miller is an American television writer and producer. Born on 3 January 1950 in Neptune Township, New Jersey, she graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1972.
She was one of only three female writers on the original staff of Saturday Night Live (1975), where she contributed for several seasons across non-consecutive periods. Miller also wrote for 1970s sitcoms including Welcome Back, Kotter (1975), The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda, Maude and Barney Miller, and later for The Tracey Ullman Show and Murphy Brown (1998).
She has received three Primetime Emmy Awards and a Humanitas Prize for her Murphy Brown episode on breast cancer. Miller is the author of the 2007 book How to Be a Middle-Aged Babe.
