Biography
Mario Alcalde (6 September 1926 – 22 April 1971) was an American film and television actor and writer. Born in Key West, Florida, he attended the American Theatre Wing and began his screen career in 1954 with an appearance in the television series Robert Montgomery Presents. He had earlier acted on stage in an Off-Broadway production of Bullfight.
Alcalde guest-starred in numerous television programmes, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Wild Wild West, Ironside and McCloud. He played the recurring role of Yellow Hawk in The Texan and therapist Chuck Atwell in the soap opera Peyton Place. His film appearances included All the Young Men (1960), Dead Ringer (1964), Hail, Hero! (1969) and Clay Pigeon (1971). He received two screenwriting credits, for episodes of The Nurses and The Fugitive.
