Biography
Mario Cabré (also credited as Mario Cabre) was a Spanish actor and bullfighter. Born Màrius Cabré i Esteve in Barcelona in 1916, he came from a family of theatrical performers. He began his career in the theatre before entering the bullring, taking his alternativa in Seville in 1943 and retiring from bullfighting in 1960.
Cabré appeared in films from the mid-1940s, most notably as the bullfighter Juan Montalvo in the 1951 British production Pandora and the Flying Dutchman, directed by Albert Lewin and starring Ava Gardner and James Mason. Other screen credits include Nocturn 29 (1968) and No compteu amb els dits (1967). He also worked as a television presenter in Spain during the 1960s and published several volumes of poetry.
