Biography
Mark Blum was an American actor who worked in film, television and theatre. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he began acting in the 1970s and gained early screen recognition with the lead role of Gary Glass in the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan and a supporting role as Richard Mason in Crocodile Dundee (1986).
On television he appeared in numerous series, including The Sopranos (1999), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), You (2018) and Succession (2018). He had a recurring role as Union Bob in the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle (2014–2018) and played Claus Penrose in Fringe (2008). Blum also maintained an active stage career, winning an Obie Award for his performance in Gus and Al (1988–89) and appearing on Broadway.
He was married to actress Janet Zarish from 2005 until his death in Manhattan on 26 March 2020 from complications of COVID-19.
