Biography
Mark Cox is a Scottish actor and comedian. Born on 25 February 1972 in Springboig, Glasgow, he attended Saint Andrew's Roman Catholic Secondary School and studied at Queen Margaret University School of Drama in Edinburgh, gaining a diploma in drama in 1993.
Cox worked with the creators of Still Game on the sketch show Chewin' the Fat (1999–2005). He played Tam Mullen in the BBC sitcom Still Game from 2002 to 2019. He has also appeared in series including Outlander (2014) as Reverend Caldwell, Shetland (2013) as Tommy Monro and The Devil's Hour (2022) as Malcolm Shepherd.
In 2006 he narrated a stage production of Three Little Pigs at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. He contributed writing to Dear Green Place in 2007 and received an honorary doctorate from Queen Margaret University in 2022.
