Biography
Mark Davies Markham was a British television and theatre writer. He began writing plays in the early 1980s while working as a special needs teacher in the Liverpool area. His first play, Are You Awake, was staged by Liverpool Lunchtime Theatre in 1984.
He wrote episodes of the BBC series EastEnders (1995–2000), Band of Gold (1997) and This Life (1997). Markham also wrote the book for the musical Taboo and the television film Liverpool Nativity (2007). He contributed numerous radio dramas for BBC Radio 4.
Markham, who was born in Bootle and lived between Liverpool and Surrey, died on 16 January 2023.
