Biography
Mark Forstater is an American film and television producer. Born in Philadelphia in 1943, he studied at Temple University and the University of Manchester before attending the London Film School. He was a classmate of Terry Gilliam at City College of New York and later reunited with him in London, where he was invited to produce Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975).
Forstater has produced around 30 films, television dramas and documentaries, including Xtro (1982) and Swipe Fever (2021). In 2013 he won a High Court case against the surviving Monty Python members over royalties from the musical Spamalot, a derivative work of the 1975 film. He has also written several non-fiction books, including one on the production of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
