Biography
Mark Kirkland is an American animation director. He was born on 5 November 1956 in Altadena, California, and studied at the California Institute of the Arts, receiving a BFA in 1978.
He began working on The Simpsons from its second season in 1990 and has directed more episodes of the series than any other director. He later served as supervising director on HouseBroken.
Kirkland has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on The Simpsons. His father was the photographer and filmmaker Douglas Kirkland.
