Biography
Mark Lester (born Mark A. Letzer) is an English former child actor. He was born on 11 July 1958 in Oxford and trained at the Corona Theatre School in London. He made his film debut in The Counterfeit Constable (1964).
Lester appeared in several British films in the 1960s and 1970s. He played the title role in the musical Oliver! (1968), a performance that brought him international recognition. His other credits include Our Mother's House (1967), Run Wild, Run Free (1969), Melody (1971) and The Prince and the Pauper (1977). He retired from acting after the last of these and later qualified as an osteopath.
