Biography
Mark Mallouk is an American screenwriter. He was born on 17 April 1973 in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1995 with degrees in economics, psychology and human development. He later completed an MBA at Pepperdine University and the Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA.
Mallouk’s first produced screenplay was for the 2015 biographical crime drama Black Mass, which he co-wrote with Jez Butterworth. The film, directed by Scott Cooper and starring Johnny Depp, is adapted from the book by Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill about Boston mobster Whitey Bulger and his relationship with the FBI. He has also worked as an executive producer on Everest (2015) and A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014), and as co-executive producer on Rush (2013).
