Biography
Mark Monroe is an American documentary writer and producer. A journalism graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he began his career writing for CNN before moving into film.
He has written for numerous documentaries, including The Cove (2009), Icarus (2017), The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016), The Dissident (2020) and Becoming Cousteau (2021). He also served as a producer on The Dissident.
Monroe has received two Primetime Emmy Awards, three Writers Guild of America Awards and a BAFTA nomination. Documentaries he has written have won Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature.
