Biography

Mark Solomon is a film editor specialising in animation. He edited the stop-motion feature Chicken Run (2000), his first project with Aardman Animations and his first feature as editor.

He began his career in the editorial department, serving as associate editor on Space Jam (1996) and assistant editor on films including Needful Things (1993). Subsequent editing credits include Bambi II (2006), The Tale of Despereaux (2008), Frankenweenie (2012) and Sherlock Gnomes (2018).

Solomon hails from Philadelphia. He has written the book Over the Shoulder: A Freelancer’s Guide to Telling Stories and Editing Films (2024) and has taught at film schools in the United States and the United Kingdom.
