Biography

Mark Thompson is a set and costume designer working in theatre, opera and film. He designed the costumes for the 1994 film The Madness of King George, directed by Nicholas Hytner, after creating the designs for the stage production The Madness of George III at the National Theatre.

His theatre credits include Mamma Mia!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Tina: The Musical. He has received five Laurence Olivier Awards and two Critics' Circle Awards, and has been nominated for Tony Awards.
