Biography
Martin Behnke is a German screenwriter. He studied theatre studies and English at the University of Leipzig, followed by screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg until 2008.
Behnke wrote five episodes of the Netflix series Dark (2017–2019). He has collaborated with director Burhan Qurbani on the features We Are Young. We Are Strong. (2014), for which he received the Bavarian Film Award for best screenplay, and Berlin Alexanderplatz (2020), which earned nominations for the German Film Award and European Film Award. Other credits include Latte and the Magic Waterstone (2019), Christmas Crossfire (2020) and the series Munich Games (2022).
