Biography
Martin Davidson (born 7 November 1939) is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He spent several years acting in Off-Broadway productions and regional theatre before moving into directing.
His feature directorial debut was the 1974 film The Lords of Flatbush, which he also co-wrote. He later directed Hero at Large (1980), Eddie and the Cruisers (1983, also co-writer) and Looking for an Echo (2000, also co-writer and producer). On television he has directed episodes of series including Law & Order (1990), Chicago Hope (1996) and Judging Amy (2000). He won an ACE award for the 1987 HBO television film Long Gone.
