Biography
Martin Gero is a Canadian screenwriter and producer. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, he grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, and attended Canterbury High School for Dramatic Arts before studying at Ryerson University in Toronto, which he left in his final year.
He began working in television on the Stargate franchise, serving as a writer and producer on Stargate Atlantis (2004–2009) and contributing to Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Universe. Gero wrote episodes of the HBO series Bored to Death (2009–2011) and created the NBC drama Blindspot (2015–2020).
His film work includes co-writing and directing the comedy Young People Fucking (2007). He has also created series such as The L.A. Complex (2012) and contributed to later projects including Keep Breathing (2022) and Quantum Leap (2022–2024).
